It won't be officially announced until tomorrow, but we wanted to let our blog readers know that Earthquakes Soccer, LLC, are co-promoters of an exhibition match which will be played on Saturday, June 30 between CD Chivas of Guadalajara and Busan I'Park of South Korea. The teams face off at 7:00 p.m. at Spartan Stadium.
Tickets will go on sale Monday, with prices starting at $20. Too bad it isn't at MacAfee.
I would rather put the money directly into Lew Wolff's pocket for soccer's future than share it with my alma mater who dissed us despite 30+ years of 'Quakes subsidy of their teams.
I suppose the over-riding thought is reaching out to the LOCAL Latin community, which AEG certainly never did. For that, I applaud them.
It was a well-known AEG employee that replied to my question about that by saying "You folks (a reference to my AYSO-44 Referee t-shirt?) don't like to sit next to the guy that mows your lawn."
Shock and Awe!! I didn't know how to respond.
Personal bias, or Corporate policy?
Hmm. Houston 1836?
Could be a pattern, or an intentional gaff, with following show of contrition an attention-getting ploy?
Maybe now that they are where they wanted to be all along, they don't see White & Brown, only Green.
